September 27th, 2004

Galit and Sergei performed at a show in St. Petersburg yesterday, which was organized by Artur Dmitriev. They presented their new Free Dance there and skated their "Gypsy Kings" exhibition as a second number.

The Skate Israel competition was unfortunately cancelled for this year. It *might* be rescheduled in January.

September 1st, 2004

According to an update on the "Blades on Ice" website Galit and Sergei are skating to "Toccata and Fugue" by Johann Sebastian Bach for their new Free Dance. You have to scroll down to the article titled "Annual Tour Of East Coast Training Centers" in order to find the right part of the text.

I expect them to debute their new programs at Skate Israel in Metulla, which takes place from September 30th to October 3rd.

Galit and Sergei were assigned to compete at the Grand Prix events Skate America, Skate Canada and Cup of China next season. Skate America is their non-scoring competition. You can find the full Ice Dance GP assignments at the following link:

Assignments for the ISU Grand Prix series

Also the "Code of Points" judging system was just approved by the ISU Congress and it will be implemented immediately. So both the Grand Prix series and the ISU Championships (Europeans, Worlds) will be using this system next season.

Galit and Sergei placed 7th at the World Championships in Dortmund last week. Unfortunately they had a fall on the straightline footwork in the OD, but came back to skate a wonderful performance of their Free Dance the next day, which was fantastic to watch live and went over well with the audience :)

I put some photos up in the Photos section, that I took with my digital camera during some practice sessions. Unfortunately they are not very good quality (they are a bit difficult to photograph, because they always move so quickly...), but I guess it's better than nothing. I *hope* to have some better photos of the Compulsory Dance that I took with my non-digital camera, after I have the film developped.

Here's an article about Israel's team for Worlds next week:

I will be attending Worlds and will have a report and hopefully some photos afterwards.

Check out the official homepage of the competition, where you should be able to find the schedule and later the results:
